Lieberman Also Said A New President “Will Be Tested Early”

Republicans are having a field day with Joe Biden’s prediction that a new president will be tested early on, even conducting a conference call to mock his comments.

“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy,” said Biden to a roomful of donors. “The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.”

As it turns out, Republican spokesman Joe Lieberman said the same thing on “Face the Nation” back in June.

“Our enemies will test the new president early,” Lieberman, I-Conn., told Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer. “Remember that the truck bombing of the World Trade Center happened in the first year of the Clinton administration. 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration.”
